Marcus Martin, PhD, MPH
Dr. Marcus Martin is the Founder and CEO of 2M Research. He is responsible for 2M’s corporate vision, strategic growth, and talent acquisition. He has over 23 years of applied research, programmatic, and academic experience and is a former faculty member at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Martin is a first-generation college graduate who attended college on a football scholarship at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He received his PhD in Sociology and Applied Statistics from Howard University with and his Master of Public Health from the University of North Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health with concentrations in Population Health and Epidemiology. Dr. Martin also received a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Prior to founding 2M, Dr. Martin served as the Founding Director of the J. McDonald Williams Institute—a Texas-based public policy institute focused on reducing economic, education, and health disparities in minority communities. Dr. Martin also served as a senior biostatistician for the Tarrant County Texas Public Health Department, where he was instrumental in leading research on infant mortality, health disparities, maternal health, and chronic diseases, and in providing biostatical support to the county’s infectious disease epidemiology division.
