Dr. Garasky is a proven senior executive with over 25 years of results-based management experience. For the past five years, Dr. Garasky served as the Vice President for Human Services Research at IMPAQ International. Dr. Garasky is a dynamic, creative leader and hands-on manager with sound problem-solving skills gained through extensive involvement with highly complex research and evaluation projects. He has directed projects for the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Health and Human Services, and Labor, as well as State‐funded projects. Prior to joining IMPAQ International, Dr. Garasky was a Professor at Iowa State University (ISU) where he was Director of the ISU Center for Family Policy and Director of the ISU Child Welfare Research and Training Project. His research program generated over $8 million in grant funding, along with over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles. Throughout his career, Dr. Garasky’s primary research focus has been examining and evaluating programs and policies affecting low-income families in the areas of poverty prevention, employment, assistance program participation and child welfare. He has received national recognition for his research and is currently a Research Affiliate of the National Poverty Center at the University of Michigan. Dr. Garasky began his career as an Economist in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Dr. Garasky received his PhD in Economics from Ohio State University.
