Nicole Togno, PhD

Dr. Togno, who joined 2M Research in 2016, has 15 years of experience in the design and implementation of research and evaluations of educational interventions. She specializes in evaluating initiatives focused on advancing gender, socioeconomic, and racial equity in education. She has led research focused on interdisciplinary approaches to K12 education reform, school choice, student discipline, school mental health, and social-emotional learning. Dr. Togno’s experience also includes providing implementation and evaluation technical assistance to districts, schools, and federal agency program staff. She has authored numerous technical reports and policy briefs for federal agencies including the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education and has published in several journals including Teaching and Teacher Education and Advances in School Mental Health. She is also certified as a reviewer for the What Works Clearinghouse and is an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Education at George Mason University. Dr. Togno holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Public Health from East Stroudsburg University, and received her PhD in Education Policy from George Mason University.
