Nicole Togno, PhD

Dr. Nicole M. Togno is a Senior Research Analyst with 2M Research. Dr. Togno holds a PhD in Education Policy and received her Master of Science in Health Education and Public Health and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from East Stroudsburg University. She has 13 years of experience in the design and implementation of rigorous evaluations of educational interventions, as well as conducting education policy research. She served as the project director on an initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Education to leverage school-community-university partnerships to advance mental health and education reform. For the National Science Foundation, Dr. Togno is conducting an evaluation of efforts to broaden the participation of women and minorities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education across the nation.

Dr. Togno researches and writes on interdisciplinary topics related to education choice, inequities in education, school discipline, and social and emotional learning. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as Teacher and Teacher Education, and Advances in School Mental Health. Dr. Togno is also an adjunct lecturer of education politics at George Mason University, and has served as the assistant managing editor for the International Journal of Education Policy and Leadership.
