Marie Halverson, MEd

Marie L. Halverson is a Principal Associate with 2M Research. She has over 20 years of experience in education and survey research and has successfully led projects funded by various federal agencies, local governments, and foundations. Prior to joining 2M, Ms. Halverson served as Vice President and Associate Director of Education and Child Development Studies at NORC where she served as project director on various studies with budgets between $500,000 and $10,000,000. She has significant experience leading studies on school improvement and accountability, career outcomes, analysis of large scale education administrative data, evaluating the success of STEM programs, and conducting process and outcome evaluations. Ms. Halverson’s extensive survey research experience includes creating study designs for federal clients, overseeing sampling and sample selection, instrument development, data preparation, and data collection quality control for federal and foundation clients, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the National Science Foundation, the Department of Education, and the Gates Foundation. She received her Master of Education in Instructional Leadership with a focus on Education Policy Analysis from the University of Illinois-Chicago and her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and English from Kalamazoo College.
